See that's crazy how things add up. Most don't even think of all the little things you need for a good install.

Nice job man, looks clean. Would be cool to be able to hear it in person.

Tuning process and reviews:

Powered up HU and went into audio settings. Set everything to 0 and flat. Turned speaker on full range, Hu had options like full in front & sub for rear in running High level signal only and since i had rear fill i wanted to make sure signals where set to what i needed.

I dd-1 both amps to the SQ tracks.

Plugged rear speakers back in to test with music. went to 60/62 to hear how the P142's sounded and they where getting to much low frequencies so i went into HU audio and started raising rear crossover until they sounded good at max volume. They ended up HP @ 200 hz in that large open cavity they where mounted in was hurting the low end response i am guessing.

I even sound deaden the panel before i reinstalled it, 95% coverage to ensure the best sound quality, but it is just a 4" coax that was meant for rear fill but i think with the right fabrication and more treatment it could be a good sub location. I will have to work on that.

So now i have rear fill crossed over and sounding the best it can i hook up the front 4" components to test and tune with the rear fill on but faded forward. HU front crossover HP at 100hz knowing it will need to be raised. Start playing music and these speakers with the pain staking time it took to prep there location sounded amazing. I did notice right away at full volume the where getting a bit over powered so i lowered the gain on the amp until they sounded better. Yes i said lowered the gain, why... because to my surprise they where playing the HP 100 hz nicely. But even though the where i new to let the 5.25 take care of those frequencies so i raised the HP on the amp until some of the lower frequencies had subsided which ended me up about 200 hz. All hard to tell with out more tool so this is my ear-o-meter at work. Again these speakers treated the way i did and there Location on the dash firing forward with tweeter on axis just blew me away. It really really goes to show the importance of proper treatment. Dont think that can ever be stress enough. I think people get impatient as i know i have before and think its good enough. But really, how good do you want your speakers to sound. The absolute best they can right? would you want 75-100% hell no!!! Its not about a passing grade its about 97-100%. Anyway hats off to Fatial Pro for not disappointing and to myself for the knowing and caring it took to get them to sound this clean.

Next is the mid-bass speakers that i blend in with the 4" comps. I had amp LPF set to 250(max for Prime amps) and noticed right away it wasn't right. I was getting some cancelation from the comps and it sound like ass. So i started lower the frequency until i sounded like the was slight over lap with the 4" until it smoothed out and blended nicely. I believe crossover points for mid-bass was 250hz down to 100 hz. The CT Sounds Strato perform very nicely as a mid-bass in the configuration and i am sure it has to do with location and the nightmare of cutting the metal out with a drill and chisel. Then deadening it and foam. I did try it as a full range from 100 hz and up, again cancellation and sounded like ass. So for $40 speakers they did not disappoint when installed properly.

The tweeter @ -2 db off the RF T1 Crossover are nice, not to bright, smooth and being on axis makes it sound great. I was worried about the mid-range firing forward and not on axis and that it might affect the performance. I was told that the mid-range location was hard to tune, thankfully i got luck and with the Tweeter in the location it bring the stage up higher and in front of you. CT Sounds tweeter did not disappoint me working with the Faital Pro 4" drivers.

So now it was time to balance the rear fill to the rest of the system. At 0 fade it was too obvious there was speakers back there. After spending the time i did to tune and had the front stage so close i didn't want ti hear them. So with a +6 fade forward the back passenger, if any will get some highs to hear besides bass.

Speaking of bass, It doesn't take a whole lot to get panel shaking but it is nice to have to lows in there. When i turn the sub off my daughter said it still sounded really good. Which it does. So some smaller 8's in the future would be nice to free up storage.

This is the space i have to work with here for a future small sub stage.

All an all super happy with the sound quality of the system. As far as staging and imaging.... The best system i have build so far. It doesn't get super loud, but its super clear to me as a amateur builder. One thing that pleases me more than anything is on firing it up....No issue, No gremlins, it just work and worked well. Yes like it should but i started running on little to no sleep and pushed myself really hard as i normally do to finish.

My daughter had a big smile on her face and i know that will only grow bigger as time passes on while she is rocking out. Well guys back to another project that need attention. Hope you enjoyed my thoughts and review of tuning and equipment performance.

As always, kind words and question are welcomed!

Very nice results man! Did you have time for a video?

Thanks, Just posted a super lengthy review but no time for a video. Daughters coming back monday to hang out so i will try to get one then. But to be honest if your looking for woofer porn, which is all vids are good for IMO, your not going to get the whole affect with a vid. But i will try to make one. (just for you) lol

Thanks man, Good to have a bunch of stock of misc shit lying around. which i always do except acoustic foam, was short on this build but i should get some. Her front door rattle from either mid-bass or bass and it id annoying. to me that is. If i had to ride in it like 2 more times they would be done already! lol

Oh, when your adding up cost that doesn't include hours of research on the vehicle and shopping for the best deal on speaker & equipment. Or the hours of prep time to make the build go faster. In total i would add another 100 hrs ! 100 x $20 = $2k. Hmmmm how do i recoup that? Oh ya that hug and smile she gave me! PRICELESS!

THATS IT! No comments on my review! Just a bunch of easy like button pushers! That sucks! dont be so lazy, you all must be using phones or something.

So the wife and i treat my hobby/addiction like FIGHT Club... First Rule is we don't talk about it, second rule... we talk to others about it, 3rd rule..we don't ever talk about it! lol

Yeah im guilty I was on mobile, shit was creeping along so my reply would have taken hours lol

I am really interested in those fast rings! If my doors weren't completely sealed already I would totally use these. But I can see these going in my parents rides to improve some SQ and midbass!

Also I can easily see you fabbing a fiberglass enclosure for that back panel, since you treated that inner metal so well you can likely consider that part of the box volume.

And since it would be totally custom you have way more flexability of what you can do with the space!

Thanks that was kinda what i was thinking. I think the area would need a shit ton more treatment but definitely doable IMO. I will start researching it.
