dturro88 Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Hi guys, does anyone knows the displacement for the new Infinity Kappa subwoofer line? they do not have this on the manual, i called Harmon but they do not even know it. Customer service told me that unless more people call to ask about it like i did, they will not provide this in a new manual print. I like the subs, they seem to be good and decent price, but how am i gonna build a vented box for it if i don't have the displacement and i rather build slotted ports not rounded like the design they provide on the manual. Thank you in advance for any answer

neuspeedescort Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 keep in mind those are "peak" numbers. RMS is much lower. but as always Harmon Kardon keeps the FS low and the Sensitivity high. great out the box woofers and will keep most not bassheads content.
dturro88 Posted December 15, 2016 Author Report Posted December 15, 2016 You're going to have to take measurements and use an online woofer displacement calculator. yes, that is what i did with what they have on the manual, it came as 0.03feet^3 for the 8" subwoofer. i think that is a little small, i will buy them and measure them like you said and use a displacement calculator

As per the Manual, Harman rates the Infinity Kappa 800W @ 400 RMS 1600 Watts PEAK, so i can't wait to listen to these little beast lol. i am using an 12 Xcon right now, love it, it sounds great but it is to much bass for my corolla and my mids/highs. Car is gonna brake with so much rattle, great sub. i will lose a lot of bass going down to two eights but all i want is a bit low to mix with the mids, i would do the 10s but i want to save space and weight.

Just wanted to be more accurate, i will buy and take measurements then use a displacement calculator like Shush Deeni said on his reply, never thought of that

Just close the port of your box to let it become sealed and turn down the amp gain to an adequate level, i'm almost sure you will get what you want, you can do this test in less than 10 mins.

The corolla rear suspension is not the best out there, the handling is very unstable with those 100 pounds in the trunk
