hzsogood Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Bought a 2014 Taurus SEL that has sync/myfordtouch so I'm going to keep everything in the dash factory and run a audiocontrol lc2i. So the only sub I have now is a sa8, and with a huge ass trunk I don't think it'll be worth it.. sooptions for 1200 RMS 4 cf or less.. It's a big trunk but that doesn't mean I want it full ? Add another sa8, 2 10s, 2 12s , single 15? Good musical sub(s) I don't need anything crazy , I listen to pretty much every type of music, but of course like the lows. I know I'll get shit for it , but of all the re, DD, DC, sundown,kicker, Rockford, ( and on and on ) setups I've had to me the w7 was one of the best sounding , deepest subs I've heard for all around music. But I'm just not wanting to spend $1000 for one. So the options are open!
notorious97200 Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Take a look at the subs from ficaraudio.com, Ascendant audio, S S A,...those are my fav' : they are very musical, not just boomy. But you need the right box for sure. What can you have locally ? To keep it simple, with 4 cf, maybe you can try to fit a single 15" sub (Fi BL, Fi Q, SSA Icon for examples), or 2 12"s on 1200 watts. ShadeTreeMechanic Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 You could use two 12s or a single 15. Soundqubed HDS3.115 is around $180. I have a pair of the 15s and in 4 cubes each and tuned to 34hz they do a good job on the lows. 1200 watts would be perfect. As with any sub, having the correct box makes all the difference. I'll have plenty of room for a descent enlosure and will probably have it pushed up and held down somehow right against the rear seat so I have alot of accessable room in the rest of the trunk. All options welcome, and I guess the sub budget is around $500-600.. obviously a single 12-15 would be probably 1/2 of that, which is nice, but 2 10s or 12s the limit will be in that $500 range.
