neuspeedescort
if you remove the side section of the port and leave the back side portion. it will still have a port. but without seeing a picture of your box it's all hypothetical. He did play it on his subs and they were loud so I doubt its the amp.. A local builder said my port length is too long he did the math and it's suppose to be only 13" long not almost 32". So idk what to do honestly. I can try to seal the box better than I did but maybe only being wired to 2 ohm is my prpblem. Super frustrating They amp may very well still put out the proper amount of power, you just need to set you gain right. The local builder who said your port should only be 13" long is wrong. To tune a 4" x 14.5" port to 31 hz in a 4.4 cu ft box the port will need to be around 26" long. A 13" long port will probably tune you closer to 38 Hz. So really i think this may be just a power issue.... and i dont think the sub likes 2 ohms.... but what is weird is the kid gave me a gain knob and it has a clip meter and the light blinks at half ohm at 2 ohms.... at quarter gain the sub hardly moves enough to produce small noises..... reedal
the sub doesn't give a crap what load you wire it to. are you sure you're wiring everything correctly? can you put up some pictures of your sub and amp, to include wiring SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=

(i know you know that) if he got a demo of the amp at 1 ohm and he is wiring it at 2 ohm now. there will be a difference in power output by the amp. thus part of his disappointment. I was referring to him saying "I don't think the sub likes 2 ohms". I agree that it is likely the issue in expectation vs reality though SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=
