Solution to wiring to .5: Tune your amp with your battery's resting and forget all about "clip city". If you've got a voltmeter, turn the volume down when you reach resting voltage level and play all day long in the 13's with no problem. The only way you'd be clipping then is if the music is already clipped or you set the gain improperly for the level of attenuation your music was recorded at.

Complaining that your 3500 "can't" push your 4 inch coil while running it at 2 ohms is like someone complaining that their sports car can't break 100 mph in 2nd gear. Your amp will only put out around 2,000 watts while running at 2 ohms. Take your fucking sub out of the fucking box and wire it in parallel. Just for a minute. Just for shits and giggles. See what happens. Be careful of course so you don't clip the fuck out of it.

FI vs. Sundown            lol?

 

The SP4 will take that amp when wired differently, try it, let the sub loosen up, and get back to us.  What's your net volume?  Square inches of port?  Box tuning??  Same songs sound different (louder/quieter) using different subs and enclosures.  Yes the X series Sundown are for lows but the SP4 is a great all around subwoofer.  Don't give up on it yet.
