moh.vze.com
Rear speakers was sounding muffled so I took out the entire carpet panel. I'm going have to wait for the next Second Skin Audio b-stock damp pro sale and apply damp pro to the entire rear deck. Right now it just has the stock black piece thing that doesn't really do anything. Anyways, on to my question... should I rotate that baffle so that both tweeters are positioned into the center or do I keep the tweeters on the outside like in this picture? I currently have a set of Hybrid Audio Unity 6.5 components in the rear (not the DLS in the picture). ShadeTreeMechanic
I would keep the tweeters on the outside just because it looks better to me. I don't think it would sound different, either way they are behind you. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

Soundfreezer79
My suggestion: get rid of the tweeters altogether. I have never liked the way rear dash tweets "splash" off the rear window glass. This reflection also naturally amplifies the high end notes which will detract from your front stage and could cause ear fatigue. This is just a suggestion though, I like music to be eq'd down in the high range but I know that others may prefer a "brighter" more sparkly sound in the high range frequencies. I like that high frequency. I tried it without the tweeters in the rear slots and it sounded weird. Ideally I wanted to have two sets of speakers in my front doors but I don't know how to create custom speaker panels for my doors. I was looking up Q-logic kick panels for my 1999 Camry but they didn't have them for my year. As a result, I have to just use those Hybrid Audio Unity set in the rear deck. I'm gonna try and Damp Pro that rear deck and see if I notice any changes in sound quality later this weekend. neuspeedescort
those are some really nice components sad to see them in a rear application. best thing to do here is put them up front. build a good front stage. screw rear fill. last i check our ears aren't shaped backwards. I originally wanted them in the front but I don't know how to fab my own door for more speaker slots. I have the Clarus up in the front right now and it sounds great. The Unity in the rear is just to balance out the 5,000 watts of bass. I got my 30SQFT of Second Skin damp pro today. Gonna work on that rear deck DC Audio - Singer Alternators - Knukonceptz - XS Power - Hybrid Audio - Rockford Fosgate - Second Skin Audio - SMD - Sundown Audio - Elemental Designs
3vil
Ditch the tweeters and the passive xover that came in the set. You'll get a bit more power to your 6.5s, but need to play with tuning via your amp or head unit to cut the high end out a bit.

Gonna work on that rear deck just to be "that guy" no time like the present to learn fab skills. but on the other hand. i understand. i took me years to dive into the fab world. a lot of the installs i do are people that don't want to pay for the "good stuff." so in reality i do a lot of rear fill. just none in my own cars. i agree with 3vil about the tweeters. drop them. maybe see if your amp will allow you to run a band pass to allow them to not be playing to much range. moh.vze.com
Here's a picture of what my rear deck looks like. I guess I tried to put some FatMat and Elemental Designs eDead sound deadener back in 2010. Man... FatMat and Elemental Designs eDead sound deadener sucks! Look at this crap. It looks like the adhesive stuff melted and the foil on the FatMat just came off. My first question is... do I need to upgrade my stock Camry speaker wires? I pretty much just cut out my old rear speakers soldered some new wires to the stock wire to run into my Trunk's crossovers. Also, I found a giant ass hole on the left rear deck that would have been perfect for power runs to go into. FYI for 1999 Toyota Camry drivers. Final Question: Is it a bad idea to not have the rear deck carpet to cover up my speakers? I took it out because it made my speakers sound muffled. My windows are not tinted and I'm afraid it will attract thieves... But then again, I don't have rear seats in my car right now either and people can see my subs >< Also, thanks for the input and suggestions on how to run the rear deck speakers. I'll try those suggestions out after I finish applying Damp Pro.
