ALDJ253 Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 My plan is to get the American Bass XFL, Alphard Sounds 1500 mono amp, LC7i, and a box. I would wire the XFL to 2 ohms, and have the mono amp do its said to be rated 1000 at 2 ohms. I keep looking around, and I have been told 1000 watts would be feasible on my 2004 Acura TSX with navi and the big 3. However, I am beginning to doubt this. Would it be better to get an HDS212 and run it at 600 watts rms, or another sub around that power (as in be safer with my stock alt)? Or do the first option, and turn the gain down if my voltage drop is too great? H/O alt is out of reach, just replaced my stock alt, and forking money out for a high output alt would not be ideal.
Ron36 Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 American bass XFL is a nice sub would keep that 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery

But I'm sure that's for when it is pushed to its 1 ohm rating of 1500 watts rms
White Lightning Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 you calculate at least 60% of that and add the vehicle's normal draw and come up with your answer ... ALDJ253 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Report Posted February 10, 2017 Would it be fine to just turn down the gain?
