Kyblack76
First layer. Just OSB to take up some space and add mass. Cheap and easy. We used cut 2x4's cut to length to "press" on to the metal (roof). All thats holding all of that, is 30 cans of spray foam. Then, we even'd it out with a 3/4 sheet. You dont need to go this large, 2 small peices on your roof and your done. No need to over think.... keep it simple, and effective. hdorre
That pic looks like its from a GMT400 Tahoe/Burban. Ill tell you what we actually did in one of them with an 8 15s build. Sprayed foam between the skins, and taped up the gaps with painters tape. Once the foam cured, remove the tape. Once you do all that, it is ready for wood. Worked great. nkrell11
Sorry I'm a little late to seeing this but I used PL premium and 3/4 MDF that I kerfed to contour to the roof. This is the second piece I put up, the spots that don't have any adhesive are where the ribs in the roof are so the wood doesn't make contact there. When I put up the second piece it didn't want to stick on the outside edges as well I think it's because the strips holding everything up didn't have enough pressure. Good thing we have a couple jacks at the house. Then after all of that I used angle iron to attach the roof wood to my steel cage this might be more extreme than you're going but I can jump on my roof behind the B-Pillar and it doesn't move. Rear section of the roof C-Pillar to back. Blake21
Nice, did you weld those angles to the frame you have built? I don't have nearly enough room for all that. I'm actually concerned on how it's gonna together when I wall it because I don't know how to figure up the box so I've payed someone for a design and I've got a ton of room that will not be used and gonna have to be hid/wasted
nkrell11
Yeah the angle iron is welded to the frame and screwed/pl premium to the roof. Current Build: 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Build (AKA Project Silent Night) Mechman, Neo Slow
