ShadeTreeMechanic
Maybe expanding foam between the layers? Drill a bunch of holes in the inside layer and squirt a little in each hole so the roof doesn't bulge. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
Blake21
Will that make it solid? I'm wanting it to be completely solid so I'm thinking about just cutting it out but then I'll never be able to reinstall the overhead console
Blake21
I've never used that expanding foam, don't know how well it works or holds up
Kyblack76
just pl glue or foam a couple peices of osb up there. you dont need to mirror the roof. just a few small peices of cheap osb, like quarter inch will solve your problem. I had 2 5x11 or so size pieces foamed up on my roof and it never moved. i know i wasnt that loud, or violent, but it held 56's on music all day. you dont need to completely cover the entire roof. just add some mass, in a couple short small peices and youll be amazed how it cures vibration. thats what id do for your build anyway. youll be able to lay the headliner right back in to..... like its not even there.....glue/foam them right in between the braces and your done. i used a jack. ... tossed some great stuff on the cut peice, jacked it up, had 4 beers, and did another peice and ran like that for 4 years..... headliner went back on like it wasnt even there and it did the trick... bolanorthhighlands
you're not supposed to put expanding foam in sealed areas or behind walls. It could make bad gas and not cure. Only spray 50% in the openings. It should expand and fill the rest. if u spray too much it might not cure My 2002 Kia Spectra LS My YouTube Channel
Blake21
That's the problem I have no way to get any wood any there , not even a way to push the board up yo get it solid
Blake21
If I cut this bottom sheet out will it reduce the strength of the windows or roof causing it to be worse than it is. I could cut 2 windows out on both sides and put some mdf up in there, I got 3/4" mdf to work with and Pl adhesive, I should have plenty of clearance up front for 3/4 the back doesn't matter because it's getting walled soon
