lack of port knowledge

Yea I grew up fishing in limestone. Question: is there a noticeable difference between slot port and round port? It seems to look easier to just drop some 2 or 3 inch down in front and move on.

Nice, I'm not far from the marina.  Its so quiet out there.

I pasted a link to a port thread above.  Use the spreadsheet in that thread to determine your port area requirement.  You'll notice information about slot versus round port also.

For port length/tuning, there are some people in here that may be kind enough to run your information to determine your tuning.  Or you can simulate yourself if youre feeling adventurous.

Properly sized both slot ports and round ports can work equally well.  The differences between them mostly come down to their implementation.  Some situations make one style of port easier to do than others.
