Likely.  Which model?  Also, do you have the link to the ebay post?

the float charge is like 13.3 with the charger hooked up, after i take the charger off it slowly drops to 12.6 when i come back a few hrs later. shouldnt it be holding closer to 13?

At idle i'm at 13.6ish and as soon as I cut the car off it drops to 12.3 personally. I also run an AGM battery.

Yes.  They are similar to XS Power and usually rest a bit higher 12.8-13.X  but when you get them new in the mail they are usually resting a bit lower like 12.6 or 12.4 etc.  but after putting a charger on them they should never be that low again unless it sits for years or something.  Mine usually come at 12.6'ish or lower so that's not uncommon but having the charger on it and it not going up any further is not good.

that Ebay seller doesn't have much history.  Are they a Northstar dealer?  Contact them ASAP and see what they'll do for you.

What exact charger are you using?  What mode is it in?  Put it to the lowest amp trickle charge and hook it up and leave it for 24-28 hours and see what happens.

When I put a charger on my batteries whether at 2 amps or 20 amps it usually slowly bring them to about 15.0 then drops back down and holds them in the 13's 14's doing it's thing then when it goes into maintain mode they will sit almost right at 13.0 until that float charge is either used (hooked up in vehicle getting used) or you unhook maintainer and it sits for days/weeks/longer.  Also, what does your vehicle hot charge at?  When it's hooked up in your vehicle it should be the same voltage as all your other batteries hooked up.

Sounds like maybe it's not fully charging and definitely not holding it's float charge either.  Was it brand new?!

Is this in your 2010 Honda Accord?  What is voltage when at 2,000 RPM?  Dropping to 12.3 seems low but maybe I am just not familiar enough with Northstar batteries.  If your car has a PCM controlled alternator and is only hot charging at about 13.3 or something I would highly recommend getting some type of maintainer and putting it on frequently when car is not in use.  That's just me.

Yes sir it is. Voltage usually stays around 13.6 no matter the RPM when hot. I get 13.8 - 14.2 volts when cold though.

I'm running a XM actually but I don't think that matters for the sake of this conversation.

My car does have a PCM controlled alternator. It drops down to around 11.8V when the PCM kills the alternator. At that point I a) turn it down or b ) turn on my headlights and i'm back to 13.6 in about 3 seconds.

I've had that battery almost a year....I drive 40 miles round trip to work 5 days a week and whatever on weekends.

Voltage never drops below the high 12's when really cranking my system either.

im using a XS Power HF1215 charger it turned green in less than 30min from 12.4v but then rests again at 12.6 with no load after sitting for a while, this is on a 96 impala with a 370 singer alternator it runs 14.3v hot

and yes its a brand new battery im scared to connect the new d3100 in the back because i dont want this one to drag it down at 12.6v? am i right for this or will it be fine? dropping to 12.4 after 2 days of just the alarm led blinking has me alittle concerned
