The 2000D will require an external fuse @ 200 amps.

When will the 2000d be out? And will it do 3k @ .5?

It'll be out later in the year - I'd estimate October to November.

I've tested them around 2900 watts or so on burps @ 1/2 nominal.

that sound great. I run in the NSPL and i'm having trouble keeping up with the 2k6 so i'm looking for something that will put out about the same power.

Indeed - seems to be the case in nSPL lately.

I rate my current draw for what size fuse a customer can reasonably expect to require - and since I don't manufacture my own fuses it has to work with an off the shelf Stinger or other brand. Unfortunately, the rules in nSPL don't differentiate actual current draw and what is written on a fuse or in the manual.

In any event, the 2000D should be pretty competitive.

Two 1500Ds strapped is good for 3000 @ 2 ohms. They aren't quit THAT underrated to do it from one amp *laughs*

The whole SAE amp line will have this look, the SAX and SAZ will remain as always.

I understand why you won't under-rate the fuse rating but what about a special edition amp like a NSPL-3000D with a special 200a fuse rating? Then you could limit the buyers to actual competitors who understand how to properly use the amp. Just an idea.
