Whenever i listen to music in my car my 2 10” kickers make a loud rattle noise not a Bass sound no boom no thump just a rattle sound. These 2 10s are not even a year old and i had them tuned at by a friend at Best Buy in the audio department. I dont know what to do about this
8ten8 Posted February 9, 2018 Report Posted February 9, 2018 Your hearing mechanical noise via clipping imo...not a good thing. I don't know what best buy installers use to tune car audio systems but if i were you, I would invest in a multimeter at least. Using a multimeter only, will get you pretty close. Using a SMD DD-1 or an oscilloscope will get you damm near spot on. Research online: "setting gains" w/multimeter, DD-1, oscilloscope. The DD-1, CC-1 and multimeter are a must to start with IMHO

ckeeler11 Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 As others have said you are most likely reaching the limits of the subs and clipping. turn off bass boost if you have it on and retune the amp.
