sTp
Hi guys looking at buying 6 SA-15v3 D2 and was originally looking at running them of of 3 SAE-1500D each at .5 but the guy that gets the equipment has given me a deal on a SCV-6000D which will wire down to .67 if i am correct just wondering what would be the best and easiest way for the above? WalledSonic
I ran an scv 6000 for 4 15s and no complaints at 0.7ohm. With good electrical i would wire down to 1/2 without concern. Beast hoss. Its a lot of board to cool, tho, so make sure to add a fan. Multiple small boards is cool too. Your choice, financially. Based on your options you are getting 33% more power by going with the 6K, i would do that. You can always turn the gain down and have more headroom, but when you push lesser amps to the max all you get it clipping and distortion. Always err on the side of more amp power. sTp
I decided to go with the 6k as it was 100 pounds more makes sense what will 6 D2 subs wire down to?
WalledSonic
One option is to wire each sub in series, giving you (6) subs at 4ohm. Then wire all 6 in parallel comes out to 0.67ohm nominal. With rise, you'll likely be over 1ohm. You can also reach this final load by wiring each sub in parallel, then wire each set of 3 subs in parallel, then wire the 2 sets in series. sTp
Legend you wouldn't have a wiring diagram for the above would you?
bcbrassard
Google wiring diagrams. There are a few out there. Rockford has a wiring section in there calculator. Not sure if it goes up to that many speakers but worth a look.
