Some thing Ive never really understood...Crimping and soldering

Recommended Posts

Solder is actually easier to take off just re-heat it and viola, the terminal or connection will pull right apart. Solder FTW

drinks.gif Ive used that method to reuse connectors sometimes at the shop I used to work at back in the early 90's

Best: Hydraulic crimp.

Second best: Solder then hammer/vise.

Third best: solder

fourth best: weak-ass crimping tools.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

Hammerdown... 1%

4 year old thread that's full of "Yeah solder is the bestest!" fails, haha.

As for your list... where does hex crimp with a 3ft crimping tool come in... IMO it beats soldering but that's just me.

Hydraulic is a form of hex crimping, just use a hydraulic pump to run the crimper instead of mechanical force... so mechanical force would be 1.2 probably..
