this thread reminds me, i was at the store the other day, and this guy with a mullet gets out of his 80s mustang and walks into the store with a pull out stereo, i couldn't image seeing people walking all over the place with pull out stereos

I can remember when i started out ...I had two power 650's running 4 15's with a Harmon Kardon Ca260 on the mids and highs....in an 1987 iroc .......and the first competition I went to it was badd ass ...my uncle owned a shop in midland texas so i got a lot of stuff at cost ....remember M&M's, Sansui, and the badd ass Harmon Kardon tape decks... when they were clear .....damn i have not thought about this in a long time ...I still have one of my power 650's and they are the old ones that had one set of rca's for the high side of the amp and a DIN plug that went to a z-pre amp on the low side ......some of the older people here will know what I am talking about.

Oh and when we pulled into the lanes we played music ......does the theme from Flashdance ring any bells ....and Isaca was just getting rolling and the T.O.W.(thunder on wheels) was what we mainly competed in

I probably met your uncle. In fact i was probably at that show. I grew up about 150 miles from Midland.

Yes i remember TOW, NACA, and CAN. Iasca was brand new and then TOW pretty much turned into usac a couple years later.

Flashdance and Madonna's "Vogue" was the choice of music for spl at the time. Then Techmaster PEB shortly after.

WOW! What a bunch of young pups. You guys really sent me back a few decades with some of your comments on equipment.

Here is my First car...1977 Monte Carlo with a Cassette deck, One of the first Chrome Zapco's ever made (I also have a black one and a blue one for those really old enough to remember)4-8inch idunno's, a single pump to the nose and YES...that is red shag carpet in the trunk.

This picture was taken in 1980...I was 17yrs young at the time.
