Either way it/they will go in a ported box in a 05 Odyssey. I've looked at Audiopipe, Powerbass M series, Alpine, Power Acoustik, American Bass, Kicker, Fosgate, and a Sundown E series. Running a Diamond Audio D3 1000.1 @ 1ohm. Didn't know if 1 15 in a bigger box would do better than 2 in smaller airspace. And what way to face the port. Not going for SPL just a daily driver. $250 absolute max. Them: "Why does my amp keep cutting out?" Me: "What is your ohm load?" Them: "What's an ohm load?"

I would go for one 18" in your case. One 15" in a bigger box will not be as good as and 18" in the right size box (or two 15"s). The problem is there aren't any 18" subs worth having for $250 new. My suggestion would be to save up a few extra bucks and get something like a Fi SSD 18", or see if you can find a good 18" used. The evl 15 falls into your price range and then you could always add a second later. They also make an 18 fir 269 shipped. What part of the us are you in? If east coast you can find good deals on skar all over. Good luck with your boom!

Not going for SPL just a daily driver. $250 absolute max. Sundown SA-15/ DC Audio Level 3 15" would be close to $250 and take 1K power, box about 3.5 net sub up / port back. A couple of B-Stock E-15s could be found for about the same with some luck, 1K power, box about 6.5 net subs up / port back. In any case I would stay clear of Audiopipe, Powerbass, Power Acoustik, Hifonics and such.

But i figured a lower powered 18 by a reputable company may interest him. Would the limited xmax cause that much of a reduced output as compared to say a woofer with 15 to 18 xmax?
