ORALE
Bumping this subs like i stole them. I got a Cab2K at half ohm on 2 sundown x12. I got all sky high car audio 1/0 ofc from the front to my rear battery but from the rear battery to the amp the wire is 1/0 cca. Would this be the cause for my amp to be heating up or is it heating up from the abuse its getting? My electrical stays over 13volts I forgot to add that I have an excessive amperage 320 alternator. Any tips and tricks welcomed not the first time ive had this issue.
realflow100
yes make them both 1/0 OFC thats why its heating up. 1/0 AWG CCA is like twice the resistance or more of 1/0 OFC cables should be cold or room temperature. check that you dont have any ground loops or the wire being too long. keep the wire runs as short as possible. Dragonsyph
YES cca is garbage and has a lot of resistance in it that turns into heat. MEAD just did a video on this, also theres videos online that use a lazer gun to get temps, and same size wire same load and the CCA was over x3 the temp of OFC> Also make sure your grounds are the same size as your power. ♦ Sundown NSV4 18" + Sundown SALT-4 Baby ♦ MechMan Elite 370a + XS3100 - XP3000 ♦ SHCA 1/0 OFC(blue) + SMD Fuse Holders(blue) ♦ Pioneer AVH-2440NEX + SHCA Pro RCA

Thanx for the input much appreciated gonna order some ofc on Friday. I can imagine some db gains from switching the wire.
