jettm
I have a 12” Rockford P3D2 subwoofer running off a 500x1 Rockford amp (658Watts birthsheet) and I am looking to build a custom vented box for it. I have all the resources but I need somewhere like a design to start. Any opinions? I want it tuned from 34-35hz.
AaronT
Figure out your desires air space, them makevit fit to your space available for a box, them figure out port length for desired tuning frequency. Don't expect absolute insanity from a p3, although it will sound great, it does have limitations, they will bottom out easily in a poorly thought out ported box, even a well thought out ported box as well. Keep power going to it reasonable. It's not underated by any means. I wouldn't give it more than 50-100 watts over it's rms rating. I'm a Rockford fan, so I'm not bashing, just being real. Now a t2 throw anything within reason at them, they'll smile.
jettm
I first had in mind a vented enclosure, do you think a sealed would work better? The subs have a 600rms, and the amp is 500 running on 2ohms
