GeorgeLukas
I've seen people say that 2/0 welding wire is the same as 1/0 car audio wire. So, when I am going to buy a battery terminal distribution, I would buy the 1/0 size to fit my 2/0 welding wire correct? Also does that carry over with other wire sizes as well? I need 4awg for my highs amp, so does that mean I need 2 awg welding wire? I'm looking at this terminal... SSA terminal

I would ask for diameter specs not including the shielding from the manufacturer if possible. I would buy your terminals from a place with a good return policy just in case, but generally you can fit a 2/0 welding wire into 1/0 car audio wire terminal. If not you can cut some wire out till it fits, just don't cut a ton off and you will be fine. Ripkon
i have 2 different types of 2/0 welding wire and they both fit 1/0 terminals. I use 2/0 Orange flexwhip and 2/0 Royal wire.

Htown B.O.B.
There should be no difference at all, ther insulation doesn't count when sizing wire. As long as the circular mil area is the same you're fine. Generally the only time it matters is when you use dlo cable which happens to be a little bit bigger.
