Bdsankey Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 I am currently putting together a build for my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD crew cab with 4x 6.5" behind the rear seat. I am currently torn between 3 subs. Those would be the Sundown SA 6.5, DC Audio M3 6.5, and B2 Audio RAGE (HNX) 6.5. Goal is to feed the bank of 4 subs 1200-1500w RMS. Currently I am leaning toward the Sundown SA and B2 Audio HNX line out of cost and amazing reputation (I have experience with the Sundown SA line with great results) but I have never used anything this small. The box will either be a Gately or a custom designed box for my vehicle space ported to around the 32hz area but am open to suggestions on that. What subs would you recommend in this application? Quality/clean bass is more important than anything, but I still want it to hit hard.
AaronT Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 Really you can't go wrong with ear that companies I'm not really A sundown fan but I'm honestly on the verge of buying some of their 8 in x 8. Or I'm going to buy some DC Audio m3 8 or I'm going to buy some B2 audio 8 them are actually all on my list of options right now. The sundown x8 would be the only one of those were first built in America. but the DC Audio m3 8 from what I'm told from DC Audio is built overseas but they are built using parts DC Audio send them. And if you buy a recone kit for a M38 it's an American coil and everything sent from DC Audio. Also DC Audio build the level threes and up in America B2 I'm not sure but everything I've seen from them looks really good and I've heard a few of their systems and I'm impressed
Ron36 Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 Sundown has built a great reputation with customers, when I first bought some Sundown subs about 5yrs ago I called there number and actually talked to a sub technician and he told me everything I needed for my box I was gonna build and I was sold at that point that I’m a Sundown lifer. Also there subs were rated at 600rms and I gave them 1k apiece allday and they loved it. I said this before B2 looks badass but nobody runs them so there is no reviews and again there over seas and the Russians got over sea subs on lock. If U go with B2 let us know and give some reviews . 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery

I think I’m actually going to go with the Sundown SA 6.5 D2 and wore all 4 down to 1 ohm powered by a Skar RP-1200.1D or RP-1500.1D. I believe the SA 6.5 will take 1500rms across 4 subs.
