Painting over Duratex?

Looking to add a little texture to my box build, but also want to colormatch to my 2-tone interior

 

If I coat it with Duratex, will I have any issues painting over it with rattle cans?

you want to coat it with duratex to add texture and then paint over it right?  as long as the duratex is COMPLETELY cured (like several days rotating it in the hot daytime sun if you dont have a heated paint booth) you should be able to scotch pad scuff it and then paint over it no problem.  however, it may just be easier to look into plastic texture spray paint, like this stuff by SEM:  https://www.amazon.com/SEM-39853-Texture-Coating-Aerosol/dp/B000PL074S

I've actually decided to go a completely different route lol

OK, I figured I'd try a leather textured wrap....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Color is a little off, but the texture is close enough to my interior

 

Now, any tips for painting over vinyl? 🤔
