so whomever decided to make the design for saturn did not think of the few people who are going to put a system in the trunk.... the license plate in directly on the trunk lid...and therefore making the rattle of the rattle of the plate unbearable....

is there anything to fix the license plate rattle? i would it down... but there is only two holes for the plate... which is also dumb...but im just looking for something to kill the clanking of the plate... i used to have a sponge like object inbetween... but that fell out somewhere...

take the plate off and zip tie it to your exhaust tip...

You can use sound deadener on the back of the plate and don't be afraid to drill into the car to secure the plate down in each corner. It will greatly reduce the rattle. You may also find that it is not only the plate on the trunk lid that is rattling. I have taken Great Stuff expanding foam and sprayed it into the deck lid on many vehicles. Be conservative at first till you get the hang of it. It will apply slight pressure between the inner bracing and the outer sheet metal to reduce flex as well as add some mass for deadening purposes. Warning: it is messy, please cover anything in your trunk you don't want to have to replace and it is a slow process since you have to wait for the foam to finish expanding. IMO very worth the time and it is a minimal expense.
