Sub wiring question

Recommended Posts

Now, all of you can laugh at me....

I don't know why I talk myself out of obvious answers, I think too much and start doubting myself....

I have 4 dual 1 ohm subs and 2 Sundown Salt 4 amplifiers, so 2 subs per amp. To get a 1 ohm load per amplifier, I would wire them up like they are in the picture correct?

Can you just use 1 channel or must you use 2?

I'd rather use 2. Seems easier. I figured it out. Negative from one voice coil to positive of other coil into amp, and a jumper between the other 2 negative/ positive terminals will give me 2 ohms, do that again with the other sub and I've got 1 ohm....I knew that was the right answer, but left alone with my thoughts and no one to ask, I talk myself out if being right 🤣

SALT-4 is a mono block amp.

If the amplifier was two channels then each channel would only see 2 ohms.

Yeah, mono block meaning it's a single channel. Even though it had 2 sets of speaker inputs, the amp will still see 1 ohm total. It's not a 2 channel
