So if anybody can help me I have a question I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe 4 skar audio 15 zvxv1 d1 on 4 md.8000.1 watt taramps I need to hook up a single wire alternator to my truck and I'm not quite sure how to put this second alternator on because it is a single wire 350 amp does it just go to the positive on my secondary batteries for the sound system or do I link it in with the other alternator if so will that disturb my voltage in the truck for the computer.

Older chevs, are by far, the easiest rig, to add anything electrical. Youve lost me on some of what your doing, but, i highly doubt youll have any issues.

What exactly are you worried about ? Dont know where or who gave you the second alt. But, if your front cell, is hooked up to your rear bank, then that is all the same, so remove that from your question/equation. Hell, one wire, just put it to the post of the alt, or better, a turn on voltage......... it goes to the batteries right? There ya go, that is, if where you got the alt from, is good to go with a self excite unit.

Edit- i think the regulator on the inside, will have a SE on it, for one wire rigs

I have the same vehicle as you and I'm also running dual alt's. I chose to leave the factory electrical alone due to the computer controlled factory alternator. I also recommend leaving the factory ground wiring in place because many guys have experienced issues after upgrading.  Combining alt output can cause issues with the CPU in these vehicles due to constant voltage provided from the 2nd alt.

From the second alt I run 2/O fused to 2nd battery then 2 1/0 & 1-4ga to rear. Make sure you ground your second battery to the frame, engine block, and body panel(firewall). Give me a shout if you want specific locations or need some additional help. I'm running 4500 watts and no longer do much while the vehicle is parked. Hence no large battery bank in the rear.

Did I read your post correctly? 4 - 8000watt amps 32,000watts? What batteries are you running? How many runs of power do you plan? What's the budget for electrical?

There is no problem swapping our the stock alternator ... add a resistor to the original wire and install a new wire to the alternator from the fuse panel ...
