Recomemdations on new sub(s)

So I ordered a pair of AB XR 12s, broke em in with 1000watts with 32hz tone for 12 hrs, then put them in 4 cubes, 72cuin port area @32hz . lasted 6 total hrs and lower spider came apart rite at glue joint. Seller gave me shit, so eBay went good for all of it. Have a jp23 powering them at .5 ohms. Set with my dd1 , 300a alt, posotive and negative runs of 3/0 and 2 wet cell batteries. Either way I'm trying to decide on what to order next. I like trying new stuff out but have always had the best luck with my american bass subs. Thinking a pair of xfls or a single HD. Soundqubed been good to me also. For space I have about 8ish gross cubes.the jp23 is a v1.5 I think, so 2400@1 ohm, made quite a bit more at .5 so probably wanna run 1/2 ohm to help combat rise. I have roughly 4-500 to spend on new subs. Been toying idea sum lesser 10s or 12s but run 4 or 6 of them, but cant bring myself to buy a sub with a stamped basket, have to be cast baskwt or it just feels cheap to me.

Ideas or recomemdations appreciated guy ty!

if you have 8 cubes gross I would go with a couple of 15s that will work on about 3 cubic feet so in a smaller box, American bass work in smaller boxes than soundqubed.

Anyways your break in procedure is very odd, usually you want to loose the suspension of the drivers progressively, you use few hours and lesser power at first, also the test as you performed it would heat up the coils and stress your subs by playing at tuning. You just need to install your subs and play at medium power for a couple of weeks to achieve break in without stressing your subs.

You have too much available space for a single 15".  if you want to buy just a single sub  get a 18" but with an exceptionally strong motor. not with a motor from a 15" which many times is the case, but  better yet two 15s honestly if you overspend a little you won't regret it.

What would u recommend for a single 18? My intent is just build a box that I can strap on top of my rear seat, not taking rear seat out of this truck and want to be able to take box out IF I need to. The rear doors fold completely backwards and there is no b pillar so its very easy to get a box in and out, except the weight of the box. What brands make a good 18 thats not just a streteched out 15?

You don't get a the best for $500 or so but the Sundown Uv2 18 should be decent for your what you want and will work with the 2K+ amp you have, here is a place that has it for a better price but I am unfamiliar with that store:

High end 18s will be much more expensive.

I knew sundown would be in the recomendations , personally never owned any but think they are for sure overpriced, atleast for 12s and 15s. Never owned or installed any 18s so have no clue there. Installed MANY 12s and 15s and for the prive there are MANY other options that perform just as well. I'll start reading up on em just bc. Just torn between go with what I know or go into new areas. If it was a b pillar or something that wasnt removable the choice wpuld be ALOT easier. How many friends do I gotta have come over to unload a 6cuft box thats 1.5 thick walls and 2.25 baffled? Lol

Nontheless appreciate the input, not wasted time as I way over think everything so u gave me another option to over think!
