dwright27
ok so i got everything finally wired up in the F-150 but i got a problem now and i think its my Z1. i get power to the amp, but no output. RCAs are im the right spots. and the speakers wired up right, but i still have no output. after adjusting the gain back and forth, my clip light doesnt come on or anything, which shows its my amp or my RCA's, i dont think its the RCAs cause i mean i pulled them and swapped them right in. but its still a possibility. i am thinking, its blown channels on my amp or my RCA inputs on my amp are bad. eithier way its gonna cost me money . cant i put my hot speaker lead from my woofer on the battery input and my negative input on my ground terminal?? wouldnt i get some output from that?? Boon
cant i put my hot speaker lead from my woofer on the battery input and my negative input on my ground terminal?? wouldnt i get some output from that?? Seriously? o____O You'll got a loud POCK, a spark, then the happy smell of really really burnt voice coils. Can you tell if the amp is powering up? Does it go into protect or do nothing at all? You really really need a DMM to check voltage at the terminals. Also check you wired the power the right way around, although you probably would have just got a big spark + smoke if you got that the wrong way round... with my big amps the 2 power terminals are opposite ie from left to right across the amp it goes + - - + EDIT: If you're using an EQ or processor or anything like that between the headunit and amp the amp will instantly shut down if there's an issue with the device inline. My amps won't power up if the RCAs are connected to my processor when the processor isn't powered up. Edited May 26, 2008 by Boon Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
