140 is relatively easy if you just go for SPL and don't care if it sounds like arse.

I did a 145 with a single 12" sub off ~3500w with a single yellowtop, first ever soundoff. If you want numbers you have to make a specific box - my daily box for that sub was 3 cubes @ 29hz, my SPL box was 1.25 cubes @ 58hz with all internals totally rounded out. It was half the size of the daily box and weighed more than it.

Then you just have to play around box position and stuff... helps if you get someone who's been in the game to help you out.

Don't expect big numbers from a low tuned daily box. You need to tune around your car's resonant frequency, and in a small car that's likely to be 60hzish.

well i can join in now that i metered my setup

seats down at 30hz, 2 below tune frequency i still hit 140.6

1200w rms on 15" FiQ in 3.6@32

peaked at 34hz headrest, 35hz kick with a peak score of 143.9

again all in the install, im shooting for 145.5/146@ 35hz at minimum once i finish upgrading 4g to 1/0.... and still on only 1200w

a buddy in a hatch just pulled 147.6, with 15FiQ on rf1000 so it is entirely possible, but install has alot to do with it

o am best part about grand am, the cars resonant freq is well below 40hz!

IMO its pretty damn easy to hit a 140 daily on music in a trunk car. I don't know why so many people have a hard time.

Get an ElDorado and tell me it really easy  Padding ftl.

edit: It alot easier with smaller cars not luxury cars....
