Jeremy009 Posted September 9, 2024 Report Posted September 9, 2024 Doing a straight swap of my stock speakers to some aftermarket components. Cheap stuff, nothing crazy. Do plan on tinkering with to tweeter to try and get some better sound quality but am keeping my stock headunit which has no equalizer and am not adding an amp, so i cant fine tune anything. Stock mount on the dash or flush mount down on the sail? Car is a 2018 mazda 3 sedan
Joe X Posted September 11, 2024 Report Posted September 11, 2024 I would recommend you to temporary place your tweeters in different locations and see what you like, bear in mind that tweeters installation angle is also important not just location.
Kyblack76 Posted September 11, 2024 Report Posted September 11, 2024 If you are using the HU, and basically zero control (TA, power, cut off/xover, freq adjustments) then just buy what you want and stick em where you have space. If it was me, id try and get tweets higher, power them, cut them off proper and band tweak them. That said, if you can fit something larger in that space, like a 5-1/4 with a tweet or something, then id do that. Other wise, just buy something and put it in. Cheers.
