ALPINE408 Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 You want th d1 if your gonna run one amp to each coil better know how to line match amps or your gonna smoke that sub Have you ever had your woofers blown?
kingsuv Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 You want th d1 if your gonna run one amp to each coil better know how to line match amps or your gonna smoke that sub ^^^^^^^ What he said I would suggest looking into getting a Maxx-link. It will make your life easier when running multiple amps Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
FiBTLforlife Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 ^^^^^^^ What he said I would suggest looking into getting a Maxx-link. It will make your life easier when running multiple amps so i just run the two amp together. i have not yet gotten a good look at an FiBTL ...does it have just one set of +- or +- +- and i will be running a 1ohm load to each coil then?? (ive been into the audio for about 2 yr and still learning) 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars
FieroGrande Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 it has 2 of them hence the nameDual 1 ohm terminals.....
FiBTLforlife Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 i talked to the guy at my audio shop in town that i deal with. he said not to recomend hooking up two amps to the sub for dail driving. he said that it will burn the sub or something. but these subs are supose to be able to take 3-4krms so what does it matter if i run two amps to the sub at 2200RMS???? am i right or wrong? put it this way, will it mess the sub up running two amps to it 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars
FieroGrande Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 I dont think the amps will get the true wattage out if they dont have a strong and stout electrical.
jmsonoma03 Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 one amp per coil at 1 ohm as long as the both amps are line matched up like alpine said and both coils are seing same power it should be fine
dmanson Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 no it wont mess your sub up with running two identical amps to it but like kingsuv said ......... get a maxxlink. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.
