nice man, i'm in the market for a laptop for school and thats exactly what I want but with 4 gigs of ram, what brand? order it or buy it in store?

Speedtest results on a different computer but the same network won't have much difference in speed.

No, not really. Most broadband connections are 1.5-10Mbit/s, which a wireless connection can handle plenty fine.

The reason his downstream is so fast is becuase of comcast's "powerboost"... here's some info on it: http://www.testmy.net/t-14829

So you really won't see that much of a difference.

Transferring data within the network you will see a extreme difference as long as the wired card is full duplex.
