I have a bxi1206d and i was playing music at 1/2 volume today and all of a sudden my sub started making like a buzzing sound but you could still kinda hear the music. I assumed a tinsle lead was off or something, but the sub checked out ok. The amp also randomly went into protect a minute after the buzzing started.

I took amp apart and see no signs of scortch marks or anything. My guess is some kind of filtering component went out like a capacitor. It probably isn't worth the effort to pick off each cap and ocilloscope it so anyone heard of this or had it happen before.???

I just had the same problem with the same amp - It was feeding back through all speakers in the car... How a sub amp feeds back through the deck into the other amp is beyond me, what a piece of junk... Could've ruined a bunch of good equipment. Shit-can it and buy something better.

put a DMM to the sub to see if the coils are blown, doubt it but you never know.

What're the amp settings like? Gain? LPF? What's your voltage drop to?

Man if its still under wattanty, See if you can't get the amp to fuck up permenant and send it in to get it fixed and sell it.

If you send it in with a problem that comes and goes they are likely to send it back to you not fixed and possibly charge you for sending an amp in that seems like it doesn't have a problem.

So push its limits get it to blow and send it in is what I would do.

Please try and blow the amp with something you don't care about getting destroyed and make sure you are heavily fused.

This is a dangeruos thing to do so be careful.

If its not under warranty I guess you are SOL.

Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
