westsidehydros
Hi, yes, I'm very new to the stereo world, but I'm no dummy. I cam over here from layitlow.com,my screen name is westsidehydros. If this question is in wrong thread, could it please be moved to the correct one. thanks. Basically, my questions are these: I have a 97 silverado crew cab dually and it has a stock virgin stereo in it. I am lookin for a way to get some decent bass out of it. I don't really know how to express "how much bass", but to put it into perspective, my friend has 2 jls in a ported box with a jl 500 w amp in a 99 2 dr tahoe. I would like at least that amount. problem is, were do you mount subs in my truck? under rear seat looks very tight, as do behind rear seat. I am lookin for any or all ideas, and am open to anything from 2 10s under/behind seat, to 2/3 12's or even 15's in bed of truck, and somehow "ported or vented" or walk threw into cab. escpecially any pics of these installs or links or personal experiences. I've got some more questions, but lets start here. Thanks to the guys that pointed me in this direction, and to Steve.

westsidehydros
check this out http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/forums/in...hp?topic=2409.0 yeah, that looks cool an all, but thats for an extended cab, not a 4 door, crew cab. I guess my question could be the same question as "how do i get good bass in a regular cab pickup?" thanks for the input though!

Forevrbumpn
Good idea, those Pioneer shallow mounts, the Blaupunk Over drive, and the HZ neo shallow sub. There is definitly room for sub there, just stuck doing some fiberglassing, and alot of tight corners Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

I still want to use back seat though. The local stereo shop suggested I get 2 12's in a bandpass box in the bed with just the ports going into the cab. But than some guys in another thread said that its not worth cuttin up truck for just 2 12's. thanks for the help though.
