TJ_Jeep
Check the sub with a DMM to make sure it's still a 2ohm load and not something lower. i did before i ever hooked them because the amp can only handle 2 ohms higher or below that puts it into protect Quote Vehicle:1998 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 I6 with Cherry Bomb and Cold Air Intake, Speakers:5 1/4 Pioneers in front and back Deck: Jensen DVD In-Dash Amp: Lanzar Opti-Drive 2000w Subs: 2 Boss Chaos Edtion 1000w max (500wrms) Rubber: Nitto Grappler 35 x 12.50 Fun Things: Cobra CB with PA speaker to piss people off =] If the listening level is too loud, then your not deaf enough =]

kingsuv
I'm gonna throw this out there.... it might be a little crazy but I would upgrade those power and speaker wires. And while your at it, get the base of that amp off the carpet. Put a spacer or something under it to get better flow Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

kingsuv
I can bet that if you addressed the power and if you redid the ground and found a better spot that it will fix most of your heating issues. That of course you have the amp running at the proper ohm load. Now that doesn't mean you can bump at full tilt all day. Any amp will get hot. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes.
