it's 2008 version..yours was older...i hope this new version get that issue resolved.

no, same problem with the kenwoods. personally i would take the alpine, but not the crunch also. It MAY do half rated power, if that.

Yeah new kenwood amps are alright, They are definatly one of those you get what you pay for.

But if you find the old school KAC-823 or even the monster KAC-1023 those are beastly amps.

and even those Highend amps of 03 with the motorized plate http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Kenwood_KAC-X401M/ <-- yes thats my amp I had 3 of those running 6 Pro Punch 12" they did very well.

I personally dont think Kenwood amps are bad but they are not ones you want to run under their suggested impedance they tend to overheat and crap out.

Run them normal and they last forever.

i agree with logan dont buy kenwood

i had the kac-x1r for almost a month playing it everyday that thing sucked ass it was blowing at least 9 fuses a day, i put my old amp in worked fine got another x1r same problem put in a planetaudio amp it works fine they say the kenwood was 1ohm stable i say bullshit (and thats suppose to be one of the best amps from kenwood :lol: :lol: id go with a vr3 amp before buying a kenwood again

i seen that amp in a car my buddy was working on in his shop, the guy had 2 to 2 type r 12s i only heard it for a few mins it sounded pretty good but wasnt long enough to know how it performed, never heard the kicker

If I was buying, I would go with the Kicker amp.
