loganberry Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 well its going to be a fast one, rest of the pix's will follow saturday when he comes out to my place to get all finished earlier this week i installed a pioneer avh-4000, its a great unit! he likes it alot, dont have pictures but will get saturday he has everything wired up and what not, but he wanted a new set of comps, so i got him a set of phoenix gold rsd 6.5's his sub is a kicker comp 12, he cracked his pre-fab so i built him a new one (or am in process) its 1.8 cubes internal before displacement tuned to 36 hz with a 4 inch aero port going through the rear deck not many pictures but mainly just wanna prove to every1 i DO pay attention when you give me advice, i took my time on this box...and it definetly shows compared to my others sunk in screws, going to use wood putty on the excess so its all smooth caulking is drying thats all i got for now of the box, more to follow soon....any comments? i made sure i did better on this one ^^ his comp set and a factory picture of his deck, more to follow like i said tell me what you think.. My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk
David Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 drill the pilot holes deeper and try to stay away from the corners so it doesnt split like it did. all the screw is doing is holding it in place while the glue drys. I use bondo to fill my counter sink holes.

David Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 wood filler will work juist fine, I think it looks good. when your glueing your pieces together, use a wet rag to wipe off the excess glue, that way you dont have to sand it off or anything like that. lookin good now you gotta finish it off

Call me a loser, but I've always used a screwdriver to screw my pieces together. I've yet to have any problems of stripping mdf out or splitting due to over tightening. CERTIFIED BITCHES!!!
