Port Question

I was wondering if where the port is directing if it affects the sound level. Is it better to have the port up or facing the same way as the subs?

I've personaly never really tried messing around with changing ports around. But I've heard in a car it's good to do subs and port back and in SUV's subs up port back. But like I said I've never tested that kinda stuff out so im not sure how it effects the Lvl.

Yes port direction will affect the sound level. The best configuration will depend on your vehicle and setup.

well if im doing it in a car.. and running 3 12"s which would be the best. I also dont have any husmat or anything in the trunk. and when said port and subs back, is the back as in towards the trunk or towards the cabin?

I recommend subs up & port(s) forward with the box all the way against the very back of the car. Back of the car as in the back where the tail lights are.

i was thinking along the line of subs back and port up. would that be louder than subs and port back? or is it not going to make much of a difference

Loudest is going to be subs and port forward (possible side port if you have the room). I have seen best results in my 06 with subs up port forward. If you want flex then do subs and port forward or backward. I get very little flex with subs up ports forward ( except the trunk lid).
