Sounds like a similar problem to what beatitouttheframe was having.  Read through this post and see if it doesn't help any  http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/forums/in...hp?topic=2596.0

very similar to his problem...

when i start my car... starts up fine... when the car finally warms up.. it shakes pretty hard "as if it was idleing too low"... "as if it didn't have enough oil"... well... when i gas it.. the car has a delay... like when i floor it... about 2--4 seconds later it will jump like crazy and then idle off or just die... i can't find a damn local show with a o2 sensor so i can adjust it... and the car's power is very weak... and... when i slowly gas it... it shakes like its about to shut down "sometimes it will... sometimes it won't"... any ideas or suggestions or questions to the answer ?

BTW my car is a 425 7.0L V8 and the carb is a elderbrok (sP?) 700 and my friend just put it on.. but doesn't know how to adjust it correctly.. FTL..

ever think about paying the 80 dollars diagnostica dealership charges and going from there?
