here are some more shots of the box...we had to wrap it in some styrafoam wrap to bring home cause it was raining, and when we took it off it had left impressions on portions of the box, so we may take it sand it back down one more time and do one more coat of black, or we may just say f' it....

2 primer and 3 coats of paint

we were talking about it after we finished, and we should have dont 3 primer and like 2 or 3 coats of black, then sanded the black down and one final coat of black.

we fucked the paint up a little taking it back to my house, so we may still sand it down again and spray another coat of black on

but that thing is slicker than a baby's ass

Thats a nice lookin box so far man, good job.

hopefully it's braced enough for that Fi dumper ;D

Folks who never done paint will never understand/appreciate how hard it is to make a nice finish all the way around on a wood/fiberglass box. I liked when Steve showed how many times he had to sand the f*ck outta the box in the Navi and the face of the new box in the civic, that ish is some WORK for yo ass. The sanding is what makes the diff esp like you said if you do a sand or 2 inbetween paint coats.

I did one that was that grey "fleckstone" paint to kinda "fill in" like a filler primer and i still had to sand forever.

Nice work so far and be sure to post the shots of the ports you use (aeros i'm guessing) and how you get em in there.

Keep it up and keep us posted.

getting the finish perfect must be a royal pain..luckily we arent shooting for perfection...lol. but it does make u appreciated a nicely painted box.

we are using areos (two 4"), but im not sure how it is gonna sound because the areos gotta be so long, if it sounds like ish, we may just do a simple sealed enclosure, but i figured we would try ported first cause i wanted to tuned real low

as far as bracing, there isnt any right now. the resin probably added a tiny bit of strength...if it needs it then i will throw some in later..

thanks for the compliments fellas
