I love wirring. I don't know why, I just do. :unknw:

I guess its because wirring is one of the most over looked parts of car audio.

When it comes to wirring if I can't do it rite then I simply won't do it untill I can.

Thanks to Darvex for suppling the wire.

All Stinger. Nothing else go's in my rides but Stinger. NOTHING.

My thanks to Darvex for making Stinger affordable. Thanks Trail. :good:

The D2400 all wired up with Stinger Expert Series 0/1 cable.

Looks good man. What was the mod that was done to your amp? I remember hearing something about those RF amps being able to be modded, but I don't remember the details of it. I think that your truck is going to be loud when it's finished. That's quite a bit of power to run and those L7's will like it. Nice battery too, I have a D3100 myself and plan to get another soon.

Now its time to put in some stuff.

MMMMMMMMMM Amps.

Since this is the begining steps in the changes that should be made throughout the summer, I guess I'll explain my amp choices real quick.

As you saw, I'm starting to build me a little stock pile of Rockford Fosgate 1501BD's. I guess you could say I have gotten fairly obsessed with this amp.

I love the sound it puts out, plain and simple and the punch bass control is also part of my determining factors.

The Punch Bass is very different than any other manufacture's dash mounted line level controllers because its not a line level controller its a 45 hertz analog bass boost that you can turn up and just works very well when it comes to someone like me that preffers a sealed enclosure and heavy metal.

(EX: Slayer-God hates us all- track 11 and most of the rest of the album was simply not recorded with alot of low frequency force that most other albums have and with a sealed box setup is simply not very loud and impressive and a line level control would never make that album perform better before clipping than the Punch Bass does.)( I also use this track to find out how accurate a subwoofer is.)

45 Hertz really does hit the spot for me and will be the only EQing in the vehicle for the sub-section.

I had tried out a Phoenix Gold Bass Cube and I just didn't enjoy the sound over the Punch Bass. What ever it is about it, the RF amps were built with this EQing in mind and therefore I feel the amps just sound better to me than other amps that have similar features but not really designed with EQing in mind even though they might have it built in on the amplifier.

All this from a guy that used to hate Rockfords products and am now a proud user of their Class-D or BD amps but it stops there. Unfortunetly after running 2 or 3 of their full range amps on my mids and tweets I just don't like the sound they put out. I feel they have a lack of mid-bass in my installs and have come to this conclusion after doing a strait amp swap about 3 different times and the amps I replaced the Fosgates with all naturally produced more mid-bass.

The only amp that I know for a fact that has a perfectly flat frequency response is my Kicker ZR360. What an amp, fully regulated perfectly flat frequency response and NO SIGNAL PROCESSING AT ALL even though crossovers are really nice to have on an amp. I really couldn't ask for anything better to run my speakers but one little probblem, the size, at just a hair longer than my RF 1501BDs the Kicker ZR360 had to be taken out of this install because there was no way it would fit under my passenger side seat. Its alright though because of this problem I found another great and up and comming amplifier company.

Sundown Audio's SAX-100.2

What is there to say, I think it was alittle over a year and a half since Jacob had started Sundown Audio and his products where being worshipped on the internet forums and that is what got me interested in Sundown Audio's products. I purchased a SAX-100.2 and was so satisfied with it that I turned around and purchased another.(Future plans require 2 matching amps to beable to power the speakers I would like to use.) The SAX-100.2 has a very warm sound to it and like the Kicker ZR360, brought out the missing mid-bass my system had been lacking. I have enjoyed the SAX-100.2 very much from the sound it puts out to its solid black exterior which is also an important detail in a product and the install. (all though I do recommend buying an amp for what it can do and not for its looks.) I don't think I could ask for a better amp to run my full-range speakers and I'm overly satisfied with this product and its company.

While I'm explaining things about my choices and if I made enough of an impression on Jacob and Brandon to remember me I guess I'll explain why there isn't a payment made for the SAZ-2000D yet. Unfortunetly for me Sundown did not offer an amplifier that suited my needs at the time for my sub-section and we got to talking about the SAZ-2000D. The SAZ-2000D is exactly what I needed at the time for my install and I'm still very interested in the SAZ-2000D and was very anxious to be one of the very first to get their hands on it. That was almost a year ago from now and since then so many changes have been made to physically alter my install that I was not planning on a max of 2000 watts for my install anymore and also like I said above I have really loved my RF 1501BD amps so much that I went on a hunt for more and just recently acquired 2 more and with that purchase I made up my mind that I was sticking with Rockford Fosgate's Class BD amps for my sub-section.

Another factor was a forum members opinion on sound quailty after doing a direct swap from a RF T30001BD to a SAZ-3000D and the sound quality thing is a big issue with me, not big but huge issue with me. Normally I would not take someone else's opinion over mine and I don't recommend anyone to use only another person's opinion to purchase such an important piece of equipment but I felt I could trust this person's opinion for some reason, and that played a big role in my choice of what subwoofer amplifier to use in my install.

I'am thankful for all the companies I use and am proud of the quaility standards which these companies use when producing their products.

Thanks man.

Mod= I had to have the impedance protection removed so I could run that amp with the install you will be seeing shortly. The 1501BD is only 2 ohm stable and I needed it to run at 1.33 ohms while I was waiting on another product to come out.

Since all this took place I have drastically changed my plans and before summer is out there should be 4 L7 10s and 2 1501BDs in the cab of that truck.

sounding good Jon. Sure wish I had all that room under my hood..... :(

Thanks Roscoe.

Dude I have room but I almost didn't have enough height. I didn't even think about how tall that battery would be when I ordered it but it was one of those to good to pass up deals. The first time I dropped it in I thought there was no way in heck the hood would shut without shorting out on the battery terminals, infact I insulated that part of the hood with that spray on bed liner you had mentioned awhile back.

Since funds are tight I did the best I could with what I had and the help of Issac it got determind that the battery would be safe installed where the factory battery was but I still fear it some but so far so good.
