My system consists of three Mtx t5515-44 (15's) powered by a mtx 8100d amp at 2.7 Ohms with a 5- fared Alumapro cap, 6x9,4x6 alpine type-s mids and highs, with alpine crossovers and tweeters controlled by a kewood head unit with a directed eq in a 91 lincoln town car is there anything I could do to make it louder (spl)?

Do you think it would help if i ported the box?, it's 7.46 ft3 right now and i read with a five inch round port by 14 inches it would be around 20 to 25 hertz is that good?

if you port it yes it'll get louder and i gurantee you'll have to give your subs more airspace also. as for the tuning. keep it between 27 - 35 hz. you should be good to go. also what's the power rating as far as the rms of those 15s that you have?

3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.

300 rms a piece? man that's low for some 15s. i say get some 15s that can hold some juice, at least 1000rms. i guarantee two 15s(1000rms apiece) will kill the three 15s you have now. put them in the right enclosure, have a good electrical system and a good amp and you can pound away.

MTX recommends 6.75-7.5 cubes for 3 of those ported.  You have 7.4 roughly.  So if you cut the box and add a big port or 2 you will decrease air space.  Do you have pics of your setup?

I would say you could use 2 6" PVC tubes about 18" long that will tune the enclosure somewhere close to 30 hz. You should have about 6.9-7.0 cubes.  If you mount the woofers inverted then you could gain a few tenths.

You could mount the ports internal, external or half-half to maximize airspace  A bit of testing would be best with that.

20-25 hertz is too low of a tuning frequency for most people.  You'd be surprised how peoples systems tuned to 33 or 35 hertz still play low and sound excellent.

It sounds like you are going to go from using a sealed box that is too large to a ported box that is on the smaller side of the specs.  I think you will retain good SQ while getting the increase in SPL that you're looking for.
