emperorjj1
lol he had btls b4 and after... plus he said he was getting closer to 1 ohm then 1.4 Fi only offers .7 and 1.4 coils that im aware of... custom 1 ohm coils could be made thou... then again you could also use resistors to try and up the ohm level but not sure how/if that would work and how effective it would be across the powerband Quote J. meade916
^^^what he said BTW you dont just hook up resisters to change your ohm load bro....dont work that way, thought id let you know that. ChevyBoy
i think the reason y he was talkin about the resistors was because in a computer thread, they were talking about hookin some up to make a sub 8 ohms from 4 ohms to use it on the comps amp. emperorjj1
oh my bad guess i cant read good... lol but the whole resistors thing was just a guess i had no idea if that was possible (i was doubting it thou) Quote J. CUSTEL
how well do the BTL's handle the power? Do they start to smell or stress at all?
meade916
oh my bad guess i cant read good... lol but the whole resistors thing was just a guess i had no idea if that was possible (i was doubting it thou) well for what your talking about doing probably not. They do use huge resisters sometimes for testing amps but they are large and expensive. Also any benefit you might think your getting would be lost in pure heat because thats all the resister would do would get hot and waste power that could have gone to the speaker itself. Someone more familiar with what they use for testing could explain it better probably.
