Bl 12 Inch Speaker Wire Size?

I'm gettin two 12 inch BL's and I was wondering what the maximum AWG size that you can use on them is?

anybody know??

Single 8awg

There's no real need for anything bigger then 12awg though.

Yea i had heard that it was 8AWG but i wasnt sure, just wantin to make sure that i get big enough wire for my baby's :) hahaha

Just a fyi, if you decide to use 8gauge, brands like Rf, Knu and the like use really high strand count and are very difficult to get all strands in cleanly. meaning, ''bird nesting'' the outer strands of wire around the cable. Cheaper lower quality economy style 8gauge seems to fit in easily without much effort.

Just thought i'd let you know from my personal experience with this. :good:

you know there is an easy solution to the bird nesting right?

make the wire solid via solder and then insert into the speaker terminal, viola no more birds nesting.

my only question would be, how does the solder decrease the width of the strands? your only increasing the mass of the section needed to go in the push terminal.

yeah i know, i ran out of rosin plus I'm trying to stretch a couple bucks literally as of late.

I was just trying to give him a heads up incase it mattered
