smallish box, probably wanna use areo ports, but a slot port will work.

subs up, port back.  depending on how much power u are giving to the subs will change the size of the box u will need.  more power the smaller the box can be.  :watsup:

well im planing on running 5000w/rms also usung 6" aero ports how many and how long should they be? anybody got a guesstimate on box size?

That all depends on the box final size and what tunning you want.

Its too difficult to say without more info-

Not to sound like a D*ck or know it all but you asked so here goes:

You gotta figure out how much "port area" you have to work with in this box. For example, If you go with the "traditional CRX style" box as suggested^^^ (I would too), figure out how your subs will sit in there facing up, then measure how much surface area you have on the back side on the box (side faceing tailgate). Once you know THAT, consider what Hz you want it tuned to, and either WINisd or BBP...or someone with those programs can calculate how long your port or ports should be. For a couple 15's I'd guestimate around 3-5cubes should be ok but you should have the box DESIGNED professionally if you really want it to perform well and either build it to those plans or just pay someone to built it properly and TAA-DAAAH!.

well turns out i can get a set of atomic apxx 18's the recommended spec is 12 cubes for both what would you guys reccomend for tuning using 6"aero ports

got annother question for everyone i was looking at meade's pics of his install and he got the amps under the rear seat i tried putting my kicker amp there but it wont fit! what do i have to do to get them to fit i had frame for the seats in the way he doesnt have them if i'm not mistaken they are both 01 got me confused on what to do

well never mind that i got that all fugured out, I was looking into getting a bigger battery for the front and getting a second one for the rear, now the problem is i was looking at the odessey 2150 but it wont fit in the front, my father was telling me that the internal resistance in the batteries should be really close to get maximum life out of them, so i guess i cant use 2 different batteries without making the life of the batteries short?? any suggestions wouls help a ton!

In my '06 Yukon its better for spl if I face subs and ports to the rear. With this configuration my truck peaks at 45hz. When I switched to a sub up, port back configuration the peak dropped to 40hz. Thats great for ground pounding but sucks for spl. So bottom line is that in my truck subs and ports facing the rear is loudest for spl purposes. Also I run aero ports for two big reasons. They're easy to install and easy to change tuning frequency. I can run them longer on a daily basis for a 32hz tune & then remove the center section and shorten them for competitions which bumps my tuning to 40hz. As far as what you should tune the box to will depend on the vehicle. For maximum spl you want to match the vehicles peak frequency which can vary even with identical vehicles.
