Would Appreciate Help In Deciding Frontstage :)

i can either keep my 100.4 or sell/ trade on kicker 850.4....

if i keep the 100.4 what comp set would you suggest...not the pro60's or hertz pleaz

same goes for the 850.4... would like to be able to do a single set. but if i had to do two sets what would you guys suggest?

im more into it being loud and clear with non of the harsh sound if that helps

Why didn't the pro60 work out....I have personally heard them and I liked the overall sound...midbass seemed a little lacking and tweets a bit harsh once in a while but overall seemed pretty solid.

edit: nevermind see you like soft tweets.... I would try pg rsd or something with a silk tweet.

i liked the bostons okay...untill the left mid kept cutting out...something wrong with the xover i assume so they sold last week...

i really would prefer to buy the 850.4 i would have liked the bostons (while they worked) to be louder...and not seem like they are tryin so hard to be loud and clear...if that makes sense.. lol

I know what you mean seems like the are struggling to produce overall loudness. The ones I heard were powered with a power1000 and lets just say they got stupid loud...

well if i can get 150 for the 100.4 the buy a 850.4 for like 300 ill be down 150...ill say $400 MAX limit for speakers.

I would say keep what you have now and put some effort into making them sound the way you want them to, you can try to EQ out alot of the harshness or try cutting your tweets off a little lower. As far as getting more mid goes you can try building a little enclosure for each speaker and seeing how they respond...aperiodic box would be my recommendation if you wanted to take the time to build it and a tune it for each speaker. Play with crossover points .. im not sure if your running passive or active (if your running active it will obviously be a little easier then active) . I guess you can try messing with phasing as well and see if it gives you any nice changes with staging or even helping with response.

its a passive setup....active i would be lookin at 1100 for HU and alpine processor...maybe when i grow up ;P
