sundownz
Think you guys stumbled on to something... Build all your boxes with huge holes in them. *laughs* I think it is a combination of factors as well... the port goes back against the wall and only has the port width distance from the port to the wall - so it kind of creates an ABC box of sorts. I don't think it would work so well with JUST a giant hole, but I think the way the port is aligned creates more of a dual tuning. Maybe we will test it with giant hole alone as well just for kicks with another test box we have, although, I don't think that will work so well Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]

sundownz
did you cover the hole to see the difference in numbers? i'd be curious. that's hella awesome anyway tho lol With either another sub or the hole "restricted" the peak score goes down. We put a port plate over the hole - which brought the peak frequency and score down quite a bit. EricR
i say you take out that 18....and put the big boy in there and another 3000d Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? sundownz
i say you take out that 18....and put the big boy in there and another 3000d Its on the agenda Not sure if the 18" hole will tune us "right" so we may have to make a 15" hole plate!
