thehoe92
I had 4 RE 18SXs in a box like that. 24cuft after displacement w/340sq in of port. Just make sure u get the port 6"+ from the rear door and mat the wee outta it. I blew the whole tag area outta the hatch of my trailblazer. why would 6" be the magic number? just wondering what would happen if say I went closer? how low did you tune it? dwz
Here's one I threw together. You'd be tuning the front port and the rear port. This is not to scale, it's an idea.It is a 2 chamber dual reflex box, you can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this closely describes it. top view with top cover of port removed to see the sub placement This shows the front port and subs, and a little of the top of the box. What do you use to make those sketches? That's awesome!!!!
Torres
That box.... ;/Have you ever actually BUILT anything loud quakecitystudio guy? The first one is good, the second one... ergh. that's what i'm wondering. lots of random sketches thrown together why would 6" be the magic number?just wondering what would happen if say I went closer? how low did you tune it? the dimensions of the port help determine how far you want to keep the opening from another surface What do you use to make those sketches? That's awesome!!!! google sketchup. it's free and easy to use. great program
quakecitystudio
That box.... ;/Have you ever actually BUILT anything loud quakecitystudio guy? The first one is good, the second one... ergh. The first one is mazda's idea, I was just helping him out since his images didn't post, only the link. The second box is an idea that could actually work as a system. I haven't built anything. I focus on music. But, I do have a keen interest in learning to build setups. I've built a box with 2 12" infinity, in a 2 cu. ft. sealed enclosure. I'll be building the box that will go in the saturn in the future. just haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. I'm using Google sketch for the design program. quakecitystudio
okay, if you take out the port on the back and build two boxes and fire them towards each other. each box will have a port firing upwards. and then lay a board across the center firing area, and you have a similar concept to what I posted except with two ports. quakecitystudio
one side being about 20 wide 24-30 tall and 40 deep? leaving 8" of firing space between the left and right. So, the center port area being 8 width x 40 deep x 24 tall with the rear sealed so it ports towards the front. and the boxes can have a top firing port. Boon
Only if the mouth of the center and the ports were roughly equidistant from the listening point and on the same axis. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
