MickyMcD
I disagree with that rule. Under the same reasoning, PowerSoft amplifiers wouldn't be able to do 9000w from a 240v 10a supply. But they do, becuase of stiffening and buffering capacitors in the unit power supply. However, neither the PowerSoft or the Audiopipe will do that wattage from go to no continously, only in short bursts (such as kick drum, bass beats etc.) If you want her to run that sort of power non-stop, she simply won't. I installed an AP15001D in me mate Doug's vehicle for a bit of nice low end, and I was very happy with it. I did not run it at 1 ohm or anything near that, but rather around the 2.5 - 3 ohm mark @ 35hz and she did a solid 945wrms from our last test. I rate it. Forevrbumpn
Audiofanatics is here, he will let it be known....... Altho, someone did just bring this up in a thread, same question, but I think the model above the one your asking about.... I dont think these amps do rated at all I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

It is a pretty good rule of thumb, you are right. But there are many exceptions. Again, I got the amplifier to do rated power quite easily with stiff electrical.
