My New Subs= Fail

I have a friend that has an audio connection, to make a long story short. I got 2 kicker L7 12's dual 2 ohm cheap! real cheap in a ported box. Came home really happy thinking that I was going to be pounding hard. Last set up that I had had on my car were three rockford fosgate hx2 dual 4 ohm subs. The 3 subs wired at 2.67 ohms could not take my BD.1000.1 The kickers barely move with the bd 1000.1 Looks like I need a bigger amp because this one is only giggling these subs. Any recommendations? :aggressive:

I'm not running 500 or 700 watts. I'm pushing the whole 1000 watts out of the punch. Its old school, so it does 1232 watts (according to its birth sheet) at 2 ohms rms. I bought the subs keeping the ohmage at 2 ohms. This is the first time that I have ever seen my amp get hot, I've never seen my amp get hot on the 9 years that I have owned it.

Looks like after all these years I'm finally going to have to upgrade to a bigger amp....Did I mention that I'm cheap? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/mega_shok.gif

x2, and do you have the bassboost on?

Yes I do have the bass boost on, and I have the ampo n on 180 on the face. Should I turn off the bassboost?
