Alright, since it's been so long for pics, I'm posting pics of the new bracing...

I'm still waiting on my buddy's amp for a test vid though... =/

It was cold, so the bars had some condensation on them. They look a lot better dry. The camera was slightly foggy too.

And this is the L braces holding on the rear plate. I think I'm just gonna stick with the carpet since mirrors or decals won't be seen well on it. It looks sexy as it is though.

My buddy will hopefully come by my work tomorrow and we can do a test with 2500W. Unfortunately, I won't be able to upload the video there because of firewalls but I should have it posted tomorrow night if all goes well.

Alright, I decided to carpet the fron of the box the same color as inside the tunnel, but I really want to put that vinyl Memphis decal on the top of the box, but it won't stick to the carpet...

Any suggestions on how to accomplish that? Maybe build it out a bit with some painted euca board and tacc it on there?

a lil sheet of plexi? put the decal on that then slap it on the box however you wanted. and if you could build a border...slip some LED's behind it?

For the decal, maybe something like Steve did with the Hoopty panels, cut a piece the size of the decal, cover/pain it, place the decal, then attach it to the wall with some nice screws (or magnets).

The bracing looks promising! Overkill is a good thing. I had to make mine stronger as I went along, at everyones advice, and I only run a small amount of power, trust me when I say it was worth it!

Yeah good ideas. I didn't even think of those! But I think the plexiglass one will be easier for me since I have some 1/4" at home. I'll probably just do that.

just my .02, but as far as covering the front wall, maybe 1/8 or 1/4 in board, wrapped in vinyl and cut exactly to size, and secured with screws to the face, covered by button tops to match the vinyl.

Alright, so my buddy brought his 2500D over and wow...

All we had was his camera phone for video so I have to wait for him to send it to me.

But wow it is VERY loud. The subs were only getting about 78W a piece but damn. Just as an educated guess, it felt like I was breaking the 150 plane. And I only say that because I've sat in a few low 150s vehicles and it was close to the same pressure on the chest.

Couple things I noticed..

1. The bracing held up extremely well, other than one bar I forgot to put nuts on so they popped out. (Thanks for the advice guys!) There is still a little flex in the middle of the box so I'm going to brace them better on the outside of the tunnel with the same concept.

2. The amp barely phased my car, but it got extremely hot and cut out once... I'm guessing a bad ground maybe? It's hard to get to the chassis the way the car is setup in the "back seat" foot well area. Most of it is sheet metal, so I'm going to have to do something a little better for that. Could it be anything else?

I'm definitely going to seal it though. The port seems completely ineffective. Most of the air blows right out of the tunnel as opposed to around the box. I had almost no vehicle flex and it didn't sound like much outside the car. But the guys in the next building said it was moving ceiling tiles heh. I'm not disappointed considering it was a little more than a quarter of the total watts it's gonna run on.

But those little problems are whyI tested it and they will be fixed before the final install. Work is just busting my balls for time so I can't get much done.

I'll keep you guys posted and I'll get that video up when he shoots it over to me. (Please excuse the quality)

I fixed the brace bar problem and I have to run some new grounds tomorrow.

I like that setup a lot. It looks really similar to tommy's setup. It should be loud if you get some real power on those subs.

It feels great to be compared to the king in any way, but I don't think I'll perform quite as well heh.

...but who knows right?

But yeah, that's what I'm hoping. Once I seal it all off and put the big amps in that is... The response I got today from it was ridiculous. It's very clean and tuned (just a guess) to around 40-45hZ. It'll probably sound different when it's all sealed off though.

Sorry to tease, but I'm really trying to get videos guys haha! It's just taking forever for my amps to come back and I've been working nonstop 12 hour shifts. And every time I have an opportunity to get some, I conveniently leave my camera at home or get pulled away for something else.
